Today’s the day for weird linguistic phenomena, then? I accidentally overheard, and was able to understand a conversation in Asgardian.

(And on that note: Anyone know Latin without learning it? The vending machine’s taking a detour into that, having moved on from Italian opera, and I’m not mysteriously fluent in that one. I left the room when the chorus of monks singing in Latin began emanating from the mysterious grape soda from another dimension. I won’t push my luck and fall into a horror movie.)

I realized earlier today that I’m closer to finishing up my degree than I thought I was. I thought I had another two semesters I had to do with more classes, but I was wrong and miscalculated. After this summer semester is completely and 100% done with, when the final three classes are over, then I look like I’ll have my Bachelor’s of Science from Empire State University, with a major in Marine Biology.

(Cross those fingers for me, please. This took me four years, so one small yay now, and one bigger one later when I have it in my hands! I have to decide if I do or do not want to keep going for a Master’s in Marine Biology, too. That would be another two years, I think. If I did it.)

Has anybody seen Molly today? When I didn't see her in our room this morning, and saw that her bed wasn't rumpled from being slept in, I just thought she must have just spent the night with Daisy, since it wasn’t massively cold last night. But then she didn't pop up in class, and I checked the barn a few minutes ago, and the cot and blankets set up for when she does stay down there hadn't been used--not last night, from the evidence. So I started to worry some more.

I'm going to search around all the little cubby holes that I can think of for where she might be tucked away in. Help would be great.

I tried to squish a big spider last night when it crawled on my pillow, but he refused to die. He's just all wobbly, even after I stepped on him. He's all uneven, and he's missing a leg and one of his many eyes is all crooked, and I'm starting to feel guilty.

And incredibly nervous that he'll want revenge if I try to use a rolled up newspaper to put him out of the misery he's obviously in.

...there's also a little black cricket who looks all beaten up. He tries to hop, but he's missing his back legs, and plops down twitching like he's going to finally pass away, before trying again. Poor little thing.

I scooped them up into a shoebox, until I know what to do.

I saw a lot of flying, singing pancakes last night. With wobbley eyes. It’s like if I bought a billion of those pillows, Kevin, instead of just one.

The pancakes sang in English, but the bubbles in my bath went for German. Molly couldn’t hear them, but they were very pretty. The toaster also shot flowers.

I might have draped across someone until they were forced to return a hug at some point. But everyone else was nice about it!

I’m about to go driving into town to see that new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the one with the mermaids. I saw some signs up for a thrift store I hadn’t seen before, too, so afterwards I’ll be looking around there to see what old, interesting things I can find. Anyone that wants to join me is more than welcome to!

I went to do the test to get my learner’s permit earlier, since I thought I was as ready as I could be-—I waited until after lunch, so I wouldn’t be distracted by hunger or anything like that. I think I studied a little too much at one point, since for the last three days I kept seeing road signs in my sleep.

The test wasn’t as hard as I was thinking it would be. I only got two of the questions wrong, but it wasn’t anything huge. It was probably my own fault for second guessing something, but still—I passed!

I passed and I have my learner’s permit!

The high point of everything that’s gone on is I've learned that I can handle the electricity from a downed power line for as long as it takes to sneak up behind someone, lurk a tiny bit, and throw it.

My shirt, on the other hand, couldn’t handle that stunt and became a little bit of a mess. And it probably didn't help if I was dehydrated before that and didn’t realize it.

But my shoes didn’t melt! Maybe because I was levitating most of that time. And Pixie, Catseye, and I managed to survive it all.

I’m told for about thirty minutes my hair resembled a weird mixture of the Bride of Frankenstein and a cartoon character named Freakazoid once everything was over. Not really with the color, just by how big it went. I don’t think I’ve seen Freakazoid before, so I’ll have to find those cartoons. With all the dirt and soot that was in my hair and the dirt that came off my clothes when I walked, I say I was kind of like Pig-Pen at his dirtiest, too.

So basically, it’s dehydration, learning a new bit of what I’m able to do, 9 stitches for a few gashes, a bunch of bruises, a round of antibiotics with fluids, and a hot shower for me. And soup. Lots of soup and a little rest.

I’ve been thinking about participating in the Midsummer Night's Dream performance that the Professor mentioned—I ran out earlier and bought it, so I could be more familiar with it when I eventually go to audition.

From what I’m looking at, right now I’m leaning toward trying out for The Wall--otherwise known as Tom Snout, a tinker. It looks like it would be a fun part and isn’t too many lines for me...I could also end up shifting to blend in with an actual wall, while I play Snout who is just pretending to be the wall.

If it turns out somebody else snagged Snout before I could try out, my back-up is one of the fairies.

My absolute favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner would have to have been the pumpkin pie—and the cranberry sauce. Delicious. Oh, and the turkey and dressing was fantastic.

When it comes to the Christmas shopping, on the other hand, I’ve decided to start on that a few days from now. I’m hoping that’s just long enough for the first round of people going shopping to taper off. Anybody else want to come along with me when I do go Christmas shopping? I promise to turn around and not peek if you find something for me, if you'll do the same.

(I know I wouldn’t be allowed to hover over everyone, grab what’s needed, and get to the check-out line, but it would be useful for getting around people. The downside would be that it just might scare a few people that weren’t expecting to see it--that, and I'm not quite that quick with the levitation yet.)
