Baby Colossal Squid!

Alani, Namor, look! Look what’s been discovered! And if there’s anybody else that isn't really, really into marine life, and just wants to enjoy a glimpse?

Well, there it is. That’s the first live observation of a baby Colossal Squid, near the Sandwich Islands! It’s not very big just yet, just a foot long, but it’s beautiful!

the glowing red eyes are a mite spooky

Just a little bit, maybe? The glowing's probably the best thing it's got going on for finding its little way around at all so far down there and not crashing into whatever else is around.

The first? I often forget how blind humanity is to the depths.

However. I want to hold the little one. Reminds me of the squids I kept in my childhood.

Aw. Yeah, it's tempting.

I just know that I'd probably be afraid of hurting it by handling it wrong when it's in a delicate state. (And maybe a bit concerned for the hooks at the exact same time, even when they are such a tiny baby.)
