I went to do the test to get my learner’s permit earlier, since I thought I was as ready as I could be-—I waited until after lunch, so I wouldn’t be distracted by hunger or anything like that. I think I studied a little too much at one point, since for the last three days I kept seeing road signs in my sleep.

The test wasn’t as hard as I was thinking it would be. I only got two of the questions wrong, but it wasn’t anything huge. It was probably my own fault for second guessing something, but still—I passed!

I passed and I have my learner’s permit!

Congratulations, baby sister. When you get your full permit, perhaps Stefan and I will have a gift for you.

Celebratory pancakes! That someone else will make so I don't burn down the kitchen and get killed dead by Lorna.

Brilliant news, Meg. If you want to practice with a licenced driver, the Broomstick and I are always available. :)

Thank you!

Yes! Do you think the pre-made kind that's straight from the freezer might be the safest way to keep the kitchen from going up in a ball of flame?

They make frozen pancakes? Maybe it should be celebratory waffles. Frozen waffles are awesome. But the kitchen can still catch on fire if the toaster bursts into flame. I dunno how you'd blow up a toaster though.

I think I spotted them in a grocery at one point, but you're right. Frozen waffles are much more delicious.

The only way I know of is if you left the waffles in there too long--but I don't think the toaster would actually explode, unless you left them in for a ridiculous amount of time, like an hour.

Yes! And thank you for the congratulations.

I saw someone explode a potato in a microwave once and I didn't know you could do that. Anything's possible. You should work the toaster. Just to be safe.

Unless you're medicated, too.

I didn't know that could happen, either. Did they cook it too long?

Nope, no medication here. The toaster should be safe in my hands.

I don't know. I've never put a potato in the microwave. Why would you do that? A baked potato has to bake. Baking happens in an oven. People are weird.

Toasters everywhere feel safer already.

The only way it makes a sliver of sense to me is if they were trying to bake a potato that was already baked--but then, wouldn't you just put it right back in the oven for that? Just to get it nice and toasty?

Yes, the toasters will be safe--waffles, not so much.

Nope, it was raw. Don't ask me. It was special in that short bus, helmet wearing sort of way. I'd say you'd need to ask them how they pulled it off but I don't wanna out anyone. They're in the closet about their cooking fiascohood.

Waffles were raised knowing they would need to sacrifice themselves for the good of the people. They consider it noble to be toasted and eaten so it's all good. It'd be a great shame for them to be left in the freezer for years and then get thrown out and have to rot. You wouldn't want them to rot, would you?!

Oh, never. Besides, they wouldn't have the time to even consider getting thrown out or being left to rot with me around. They're too delicious for that to happen.

Thank you, Kurt! I'll try not to ask and ask until you go crazy, so that whatever it is will stay a surprise.

You're a hero to frozen waffles everywhere.

Thank you! I'll probably take you up on that offer in a couple weeks.
